The Story Behind the Splash Ink Cushion
Share
At NEWPEARL, we set out to revolutionize the traditional bike seat cover, which was often limited to a simple, black design. We wanted to create something truly unique—both visually striking and highly functional.
Drawing inspiration from abstract ink splash paintings, we wanted our cushion to reflect energy, motion, and individuality. Each splash of color on the Splash Ink Bike Cushion represents the dynamic, unpredictable beauty of life on the move. Whether you're riding through city streets or conquering mountain trails, this design brings vibrant energy to every ride.
Perfecting the Color
Bringing this bold design to life was no small feat. The unique texture of the cushion surface required a printing technique that could preserve the vivid colors while ensuring a smooth, non-slip finish.
Through countless hours of testing, we developed a layering technique that not only keeps the colors strikingly bright but also ensures durability. This process involves meticulous attention to detail—even reapplying color after every 10 units to guarantee consistency and longevity.
The result? A seat cover that makes riders say, “Wow.” It’s not just a splash of color; it’s a bold statement that transforms the traditional bike seat into a piece of art.
Uncompromised Comfort
But it’s not just about looks. Inside, the Splash Ink Cushion features gel padding that absorbs road bumps, making every ride smoother and more enjoyable. Its carefully designed narrow nose prevents thigh friction, blending style with performance.
This cushion is for cyclists who value individuality, comfort, and artistry in equal measure. It’s a product that turns every ride into an expression of personality and creativity.
An Award-Winning Design
In November 2024, the Splash Ink Cushion was honored with the American Good Design Award, recognizing its innovative approach to cycling accessories. This award is a testament to our commitment to pushing boundaries and bringing both art and function to the cycling world.
