How to Measure Bicycle Saddle Height

Here are the most common methods to find the right saddle height:
Method 1: Heel Method (Quick & Easy)
1.Sit on your bike with your heel on the pedal
2.Pedal to the lowest position (6 o'clock)
3.Your leg should be fully straight — if it bends, raise the seat; if you rock your hips, lower it

Method 2: Inseam Formula (More Precise)
1.Measure your inseam (inside leg from floor to groin, barefoot)
2.Multiply by 0.883
3.The result = ideal saddle height from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle

Method 3: Slight Bend Check (While Riding)
•When pedaling normally (ball of foot on pedal), your knee should have a slight bend of about 25–35° at the bottom of the pedal stroke
General Tips:
•Make small adjustments (5mm at a time) and test after each change
•Too low = knee pain at the front; too high = pain at the back of the knee or hip rocking
•Always tighten the seat post clamp securely after adjusting
